The Equipment Maintenance Centre (EMC) is a brain child of the National Universities Commission (NUC), inaugurated on 1st November 1991. The Centre was formerly in the Department of Physics, but was relocated to its present location in 2011 as a Centre. The Centre has the mandate to provide and develop maintenance policy for the University and to carry out routine repairs/maintenance of serviceable equipment within the confines of the University and beyond. The Centre also services equipment in other tertiary institutions on contract basis.
Besides, the Centre is to articulate and execute a robust capacity building policy for technologists and technicians and also to play active role in area of equipment procurement and installation for the University. Through this mandate, the EMC has been championing the repair and installation of the University equipment with success.
