The following projects and milestones, achieved through the dedication of successive Directors and staff of the EMC, reflect our sustained service to the University community and external clients:

  • Installation of inverters and solar systems at Kenneth Dike Library, Faculties of Science and Pharmacy, Faculty of Technology (NLNG), Department of Library, Archival and Information Studies, Central Laboratory, Zoology Department, Agronomy Department, Internal Audit Department, Academic Planning Office, Physical Planning Unit, Office of International Programmes, Student Affairs Office, Registrar’s Office, Cash Office, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Office, Deans Office (Faculty of Science), Vice Chancellor’s Office, and University staff residences (Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and DVC Administration).
  • Installation of inverters and solar systems in Queen Idia Hall, Awo Hall, and the International School Ibadan (ISI).
  • Installation of solar panels and inverter system at the Vice Chancellor’s residence.
  • Lighting-up of the UI Main Gate Car Park with inverter/solar system.
  • Drosophila Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry: Solar inverters.
  • CBN and FLT, Faculty of Science: Protection systems for projectors and inverter installations.
  • Repair of Lamina Flow system in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at ₦50,000 (instead of several millions projected for foreign experts).
  • Repair of sensitive scientific equipment for the Departments of Chemical Pathology, Botany, and Crop Protection & Environmental Biology at significantly reduced costs.
  • Repair and replacement of batteries for the Departments of Civil Engineering and Geography.
  • Secured a contract worth over ₦2 million with NIHORT, Ibadan, for equipment repair and servicing.
  • Provided consultancy and equipment servicing for Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan.
  • Development of the UI-light sensor in collaboration with IT students to reduce energy waste on campus.
